FM/a® — The Fibromyalgia Test — is a result of research and clinical studies performed at the University of Illinois College of Medicine. In late 2012, it was recognized by the American Association for Clinical Chemistry with an award for “Outstanding Research in Clinical and Diagnostic Immunology.”
With FM/a®, patients and practitioners alike now have a test for FM that’s based on something more than subjective criteria that too often ends with misdiagnosis or a delayed, missed, or wastebasket diagnosis. FM/a®’s test results are based on a 1-100 scoring system; patients with active disease activity score 51 and above.
Savings and Cost
A 2012 study published by the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy found that patients spend between 3 and 5 years, and $10,000 and $42,500, on testing, imaging and referrals prior to an FM diagnosis. We accept Medicare, Blue Shield of California, CIGNA, Humana, United Healthcare, and many other plans in full (subject to deductibles and co-pays).
Wellness and Better Health
The Better Health Program® or, for that matter any wellness program, cannot begin without an accurate and timely diagnosis of underlying medical symptoms or conditions. Fast, simple, and cost-effective, FM/a® is the perfect starting point for the fibromyalgia sufferer who’s sick of the run around, and who has probably started to feel a bit like an outsider when it comes to personal and family wellness.
Given the large number of people who suffer with Fibromyalgia — and especially considering those who’re feeling isolated or depressed — it’s no surprise that “community” is such an important piece in the FM puzzle. The FM/a® team at EpicGenetics is fully committed to helping build, broaden, and strengthen the FM Community, starting with our support of the NFMCPA.
